In Providence, a group of art-school misfits calling themselves Unwanted chase notoriety with cut-and-paste philosophy, exploding stage props, conceptual cowboy kitsch, and absolutely no agreement on what they’re doing. Bob believes spectacle will save them. Gary believes in robots. Doug isn’t sure he’s even the bassist. And Trish—smart, ambitious, perpetually underestimated—just wants it to mean something. 

From disastrous gigs and half-baked performance art to accidental press buzz and industry near-misses, the band keeps almost breaking through while privately coming apart. Love curdles into resentment, ambition tangles with insecurity, and every joke starts to land a little too hard. 

When sudden tragedy hits close to home, the myth they’ve been building about themselves—about art, about success, about each other—can’t hold.
